Ah, Emma and Oliver’s wedding day… what an absolute delight! Imagine this: a stunning outdoor cathedral tucked away in the lush, serene rainforest, overlooking the sparkling waters of Wallis Lake. It’s the perfect backdrop for two souls deeply in love to say "I do." This is exactly how Emma and Oliver chose to celebrate their union at The Green Cathedral in Tiona, NSW.
If you're dreaming of a magical wedding on the Mid North Coast, this day might just feel like it's a page from your future love story!
A Ceremony Surrounded by Nature
Every wedding I capture at The Green Cathedral, it feels like I am stepping into a secret, sacred world. Palm trees soared high above us, the peaceful atmosphere filled with the sounds of rustling leaves and soft breezes. Emma, looking radiant in her elegant gown, stood before her family and friends, her smile brighter than ever. Oliver, full of warmth and calm, waited for her at the altar under the leafy canopy, the iconic Wallis Lake shimmering in the background. With 110 of their family and friends seated on simple wooden benches under the towering trees, their vows felt even more powerful, surrounded by the beauty of nature. A ceremony nothing short of amazing by the beautiful celebrant Emily Hickson of Love Kiss Confetti.
The stunning florals by Flora Adora Studio added a touch of enchantment to the already magical setting, with vibrant blooms enhancing the natural beauty of The Green Cathedral.
It’s hard not to picture yourself here—imagine walking down that natural aisle with trees as your witness, looking into the eyes of your love with nothing but endless beauty around you.
Mr & Mrs post ceremony bride and groom photos at the Green Cathedral
Capturing Emma and Oliver in the magical setting of the Green Cathedral was an absolute dream. We spent time wandering through the towering palm trees, with the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, creating that soft, golden glow I always hope for. The lake’s peaceful waters reflected the beauty of their connection, providing a serene backdrop as they shared sweet, intimate moments. The balance between the grand nature of the space and the quiet simplicity of their love was unforgettable—every glance and touch felt like it belonged in this stunning, sacred place. Truly, it was a photographer’s paradise.
Fun at Seven Mile Beach
After the heartfelt ceremony, we ventured to Seven Mile Beach for the bridal party photos—and let me tell you, these photos are what wedding dreams are made of. Emma and Oliver, along with their closest friends and family, were nothing short of joyous. There were laughs, hugs, and lots of barefoot fun on the sand! The natural light and the endless stretch of beach gave us the perfect setting to capture the excitement of the day. The relaxed and happy energy of this group was contagious—exactly what every couple hopes for in their wedding day memories.
Celebrating at Elizabeth Beach
The celebration didn’t stop there! Emma and Oliver’s reception was held at the Pacific Palms Surf Life Saving Club, overlooking the ever-gorgeous Elizabeth Beach. With the waves gently crashing in the background and string lights glowing inside, this cosy venue set the mood for a night of dancing and laughter.
Emma and Oliver’s day had many charming personal touches, from the hand-crafted decorations made by Emma herself to their Border Collie, Finn, who was a special guest at the ceremony. I couldn’t get enough of their adorable two-year-old nephew, who was the sweetest little ring bearer.
The classic and elegant color scheme of eggshell blue, gold, and white ran throughout the day, creating an understated yet timeless feel. From the beautiful flowers arranged by Flora Adora Studio to the stunning cake made by Let’s Get Baked in Forster, every detail was carefully thought out.
During the cocktail hour, musician Max Marvell filled the air with music, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere for all the guests to enjoy.
The night was filled with laughter, tears, and plenty of dancing, thanks to Advantage DJs keeping the party going.
A Love That’s Full of Adventure
Emma and Oliver are the kind of couple you can’t help but admire—they're full of life, love, and adventure. In Emma’s own words, “We love outdoor activities; walking, swimming, going to the beach, playing 6-a-side soccer together, hiking, and camping. We love going out for dinner and chatting, we love dancing together, we love visiting our families, slow grocery shop trips meandering up and down every aisle. We are just very lucky to have found each other.”
This spirit of adventure carried through their wedding day, from the joy-filled ceremony to the relaxed and fun reception. Emma’s bridesmaids (who were all family—her sister and cousins) were by her side throughout the day, sharing in the excitement and ensuring she felt surrounded by love. And while the day was full of planned moments, the candid photos of genuine smiles, heartfelt tears, and spontaneous dancing captured the essence of who they are as a couple.
